More Lawsuit Settlements for Countrywide

Countywide Financial Corp. has just to agreed to provide $150M in mortgage relief and cash assistance for Pennsylvania homeowners to settle a state lawsuit over its lending practices.
A statewide investigation has concluded that Countywide sold risky loans to people who could not understand them nor afford them.

The settlement will offer loan modifications, relocation assistance and foreclosure relief as well as waivers of default or delinquency fees. The settle allow will freeze all defaults until it is determined which homeowners are eligible.
